Point-To-Point

Welcome to Point-To-Point

This is Point-To-Point, the spot for fun, educational Carr Amps Videos, articles, news, and oddities! What are Carr Amps Videos, you ask? We are embarking on an ambitious project to produce at least one video per month on subjects like amp building, the Carr Amps shop, how-to's, and more. The first one is already up: Carr Video Series #1. Yes, we are moving into the modern world (but we still make our amps with tubes). With Point-To-Point's blog-style format, you are welcome, nay, encouraged to add your comments to the posts. And to keep up with Point-To-Point, there are subscription options via RSS and email. Both methods are hosted by Google's Feedburner service. To navigate Point-To-Point, you can scroll through the posts which are arranged by date from newest to oldest, or use the methods provided in the Point-To-Point Submenu (at left) to zero in on the posts you are interested in.
  • Search - Searches posts, categories, tags, comments, authors, and more. Just type in a word.
  • Categories - Posts are grouped into categories--sometimes more than one. The categories a post belongs to are listed under the post's title. Selecting a category from the list retrieves all the posts in that category.
  • Archives - This is a way to filter posts by month and year.
In other modern improvements, we now have a Carr Amps YouTube Channel. There you can find, in addition to our Carr Amps Videos, collections of others' videos that feature Carr amps. Enjoy, and check back often! Best, Steve Carr and the Carr Team

Raleigh Review

Guitar World Cover, Aug 2009

Guitar World Cover, Aug 2009

The Raleigh gets reviewed in the August 2009 issue of Guitar World. There is also a good video demonstration of the Raleigh on the CD included with the magazine. Reviewer Eric Kirkland writes: Its three watts produce surprisingly loud Sixties-style clean tones as well as southern-fried overdrive that sizzles with fat and sustain, making the Raleigh one very versatile little amp. On newsstands now.

Slant 6V Review

Guitar Player, Feb 2009

Guitar Player, Feb 2009

In the spring of 2008, the Slant 6V was updated to include independently adjustable reverb in both channels and circuit tweaks to improve its already outstanding tone. Guitar Player magazine reviews the updated Slant 6V in the February 2009 issue, earning the Guitar Player Editors' Pick. Reviewer Darrin Fox writes, Big props to Carr for churning out an amazingly useful and versatile amp that celebrates tube-tone nerdiness in an ultra-gig-worthy package.
